Reimagine online education as a student-friendly mobile platform.

College students do everything on phones, including homework. In collaboration with the Barnes and Noble Education team, we designed and built an online learning platform for web and mobile.

Books to bytes

Barnes & Noble is one of the largest retailers of course readers and textbooks in the United States. College campuses nationwide use B&N materials to accompany their on-site courses. As more learning moves onto digital platforms, B&N needed to be there.

Straight chalk express

Keeping students engaged with coursework is hard enough as it is, and traditional online learning software is clunky and hard to use. The existing platform was frustrating for students. Our job was to reimagine the interface from the ground up, and then build it using modern technologies decoupled from a legacy API.

Text me my degree

Designing for college students in 2016 means designing a mobile-first experience. The product we delivered is simple to pick up and use for real students—a professional-grade user experience for serious learners.
